Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?

Dr. Samona has always found that he looks at a person’s smile before anything else when meeting them for the first time. As a child, he noticed that some people had a tendency to try and hide their teeth out of embarrassment. Part of the reason he became a dentist was to help such individuals improve their self-esteem. Another factor was the way dentistry combined a number of his interests, including science, art, engineering, and hands-on work.

Where Did You
Study Dentistry?

Dr. Samona went to the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. While studying, he earned an award for implant dentistry as well as one for research regarding oral health education for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. He eventually graduated at the top of his class, and he went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at UT Health San Antonio. He has been thoroughly trained in a number of fields, including Invisalign, gum surgery, cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, and dental implant placement and restoration.

Dr. Samona takes his continuing education seriously and regularly attends courses taught by experts in general dentistry, implant dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. His goal when it comes to his education is to continue bringing his patients the best that modern dentistry has to offer.
