Why Did You Want to
Become a Dentist?

Dr. Hoy’s passion for helping people and fascination with dentistry intertwined to shape her desire to become a dentist. From first grade, she has a drawing with the words, “When I grow up, I want to be a dentist.”

Dentistry, with its unique blend of healthcare and artistry, always seemed like the perfect avenue for her to make a difference in people’s lives. The ability to alleviate pain, restore smiles, and enhance overall well-being is what drove her to follow this path. Pursuing dentistry became not just a dream, but a purpose-- one she has wholeheartedly embraced and turned into a reality.

Where Did You
Study Dentistry?

After completing dental school at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Hoy was able to enhance her skills by completing a one-year residency program at the Cleveland Clinic. During her training there, she honed her ability to handle a wide array of dental emergencies with confidence. The program also provided invaluable hands-on experience with various specialties such as dental implant placement and extensive oral surgery procedures.

Always striving to get better, Dr. Hoy is an active member of the American Dental Association and Michigan Dental Association.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Hoy says that her family is her biggest support system. Her dad owns a demolition company, and her mom works alongside him. She has one older sister who is a kindergarten teacher who recently got married. Dr. Hoy is currently engaged herself and planning to get married relatively soon! She and her fiancé have been together for over 10 years now, and they share a beloved dog, Charlie.

When she isn’t working, you’ll usually find Dr. Hoy outdoors, whether this involves reading, going for walks, bike riding, or traveling. She’s passionate about listening to music and enjoys singing even though she admits to not being very good at it!
